In addition to being absolutely free, walking is the best way to see San Francisco. (Sure, the cable cars are fun, but $5 a ride with no transfers is too rich for our blood!) Really, you have to put on your comfy shoes, pick a neighborhood, and hoof it to get the real feel of the City.
The Sunday Streets program takes this already superb way to travel the blocks of Baghdad by the Bay, removes the cars, and amplifies the fun! When Sunday Streets goes down, you can traverse not just the sidewalks, but the entire block of the town (in designated areas only — check their website).
The next Sunday Streets is this coming Sunday, July 19th, in the Mission from 10am – 2pm. Check out the events (performances, games, etc.) and the route map on the Sunday Streets webiste.
See you in the street!
