More Free Health Care
Submitted by matthew on April 9, 2008 - 12:25pm.We here at CBSF.com really think that health care needs to be free across the board. The government needs to pay for it and get those insurance companies out of the business. (Yes, higher taxes, but lower health care costs all around, therefore its cheaper in the end, yay!)
Free Movie on Your Birthday!
Submitted by matthew on April 8, 2008 - 3:01pm.A free movie? In San Francisco? With the price of tickets on the upward march, that's worth taking advantage of in this town, fellow Cheap Bastards! And, as a bonus, you get to support one of the City's remaining independent theatres.
Now, this is only on your birthday, but the savvy cheapskate knows that opportunism works: wait patiently and grab the freebie when you can!
Cheap Haircuts
Submitted by karen on April 7, 2008 - 3:02pm.I began to realize that even though the site promises information on cheap haircuts in San Francisco, there actually is no posting on the subject here on cheapbastardsf.com. For that, you have to but the book, but, this being a site dedicated to all things cheap, a lot of you aren't going to shell out the $15 for that!
So here are few real cheap options taken from the book. I'll add more ideas in the future. In the meantime, feel free to add your own tips!

Downtown Cheap Lunch
Submitted by matthew on March 31, 2008 - 5:28pm.My current job has taken me into the belly of San Francisco's Corporate Beast (so to speak), and I now find myself, during my 30-minute lunch breaks, wondering, "Where can a Cheap Bastard like myself find a good place to eat?"

Free Art Happenings
Submitted by karen on March 26, 2008 - 10:04am.Looking at art is the cheapskate's pearl necklace on a pig: You stand there looking suave, biding your time until you can request your fourth glass of Yellow Tail and a seventeenth Trader Joe's cheese cube without rousing suspicion. Because, after all, this is ART, dammit, in a super slick GALLERY, and everyone is a sophisticate.
Finney's Friday Free Stuff
Submitted by karen on March 26, 2008 - 9:57am.For no-frills old-school coupon clipping and big chain steals and deals, turn to an old-school medium. The local ABC channel 7 news station has a guy (Michael Finney) who has MY job - pointing out free crap available to everyone. Switch the remote from Three's Company just long enough to hear about free groceries, cheap tickets to Disney on Ice (ick), and other Bay Area-wide giveaways. Check it here at the KGO website.
Low-Cost Therapy
Submitted by karen on February 26, 2008 - 12:52pm.A therapist just isn't the status symbol that it used to be in old Woody Allen movies. At least, not when it's a bargain like this. The SF Center for Psychoanalysis offers a low fee clinic for those who feel they may benefit from Freud's talking cure. One pal of ours goes twice a week for a mere fifty bucks - a total steal for private mental health services. Help resolve your mommy issues here:
